Pune: The tenth Constro exhibition being held in Pune later this year will offer a platform to a wide range of Indian and international participants.

Top construction equipment manufacturers and technology developers from Korea, China, Malaysia, Germany, Italy, Canada, Holland, Denmark and Dubai are expected to showcase their products at Constro 2007, being held in Pune between November 28 to December 2, 2007. The event will be the 10th in the series.

According to R.D.Nagarkar, chairman of the organizing committee of Constro 2007, a new concept of cluster pavilions for overseas participants is being introduced, apart from special features for products and services related to Malls, Multiplexes IT parks and intelligent homes, which will create the main theme of Constro 2007.

Constro 2007 is being organized across 7.5 acres land at the College of Engineering (COEP) Ground in Pune. An area of around 6,000 sq.m. will be covered with more than 200 booths. Pune Construction Engineering Research Foundation is celebrating its Silver Jubilee year, Mr. Nagarkar added, and this time, "for the first time in the last 25 years in association with Orbit, we intend to give this show a wider canvas and global perspective to the issue."

Mr. Naren Kothari, Hon. Secretary of PCERF, an NGO, and organisers of the event says that more than two lakh visitors and 10,000 professionals are expected to attend.

According to PCERF, the real estate demand in the next five years is expected to be more than 2000 million sq.ft. within all seven active markets of the country, amongst which Pune is at the forefront. The construction industry also provides an impetus to other sectors creating linkages and infrastructure facilities.

Constro will also host competitive events for industry and institutions for design and implementation of entrance gates and the theme pavilion. Platinum, Gold, Silver and Associate sponsorships are promoted for various competitions and seminars.

This year, entries from all over Maharashtra from Architectural and Engineering colleges will also be called for the competition of Entrance gate - a major attraction of the event. The centralized theme will promote the concept of Intelligent Homes (India 2020) "as this is the future of the Indian construction and building industry", say the organisers.

"Our associated sponsorship M/s Digi Home Solutions will set up full fledged prototype model at Constro 2007," Mr. Nagarkar said. "The prototype home model will consist of solutions such as intelligent display, video, visitors, tracking systems, smart access, security zoning, keyless access, motion activated devices safety, automation information, communication and also entertainment solutions.

The entire ambience with musical fountain, water body raised platforms, water screens and massive landscaping surrounding the intelligent home will create a magic impact." Last year, the exhibition generated business of more than Rs. 1000 crore.
